Sonnet – To Zombies
You once were so full of pride and valor.
The day came for you to be a hero,
And to fight against creatures with pallor.
We fought the apocalypse at ground zero.
We fought for a fortnight against walking dead,
We would speak of how our lives used to be,
Secrets were told and the unsaid was said.
We each had similar philosophy.
Alas, one day you were caught off of guard,
The horrible thing bit you on your arm.
My next decision was dreadfully hard,
For me to live, you would suffer dire harm.
Whilst my conscience was wrapped in moral chains,
You sneaked up behind me and ate my brains.
